The Beaverkill Trout Hatchery was spawned in 1963 by Fred D. Shaver, a dairy farmer and an avid sportsman.
Perhaps the oldest and largest private trout hatchery in New York state, it is still proudly family owned and operated 5 generations strong by the Shaver family.
Primarily stocking trout to customers in New York, New Jersey, and Conneticut Beaverkill Trout can also be found at many restaurants around the area, as well as NYC - and was even featured at Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
A fish and pay pond and roadside stand are open April 1 to Labor Day, Weekends 8AM-5PM. Fresh and Smoked trout is also available for purchase.
Hand measured trout for stocking are available March - November (weather permiting) on the off season.
Rainbow, Golden Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Tiger trout available.
